Melissa Wilson v. Ceva Logistics US Inc.
Melissa Wilson was injured when she fell from the back of a truck as it drove away from a loading dock. Wilson filed a lawsuit against CEVA Logistics, Emerald Transport, and the truck driver. After a jury trial, the jury found that the defendants were 100% at fault and awarded Wilson $8.5 million in damages. CEVA appeals, arguing that the superior court erred by excluding certain evidence without sufficient Burnet findings, excluding other evidence and testimony, admitting evidence it argues was cumulative, and that the damages award was unsupported. Wilson cross appeals, arguing that the superior court erred by reducing the jury’s damages award. COA # 881965. King County Superior Court # 23-2-02062-6 SEA.
