Division 1 Court of Appeals

State of Washington v. Daa Mu Loren Jamal Windom

  • Windom was convicted for assault in the third degree for spitting on a police officer. During voir dire, Windom moved to strike a white juror and the State objected under GR 37. The court sustained the State’s objection. The jury found Windom guilty and the court sentenced him to no confinement and 12 months community custody. Windom appeals asserting that the trial court erred when it sustained the State’s GR 37 objection, the prosecutor engaged in misconduct during closing arguments, and the trial court erred by admitting prejudicial propensity evidence. COA #871994. Snohomish County Superior Court # 24-1-00344-31.
