Division 1 Court of Appeals

State of Washington v Bobby Darnell Gwin. The trial court allowed Gwin to represent himself at trial but denied his request for standby counsel. Gwin contends that denial of standby counsel violated his right to self-representation under Washington Constitution article I, section 22. He also argues the trial court abused its discretion by failing to meaningfully consider his request for standby counsel. COA #842978. King County Superior Court #20-1-03958-2 SEA.
