The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries holds a public hearing on Proposed Rulemaking regarding Temporary Worker Housing (TWH).
The purpose of this rulemaking, in conjunction with the Department of Health (DOH), is to propose amendments to address the hazards of communicable diseases such as COVID-19 amongst Temporary Worker Housing (TWH) occupants. RCW 70.114A.065 directs the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) to adopt joint rules for the licensing, operation and inspection of temporary worker housing (TWH). DOH and L&I have assessed the previous COVID-19 emergency rule requirements, along with input from interested parties and are proposing amendments for permanent adoption of the following key provisions to address prevention of future outbreaks and the spread of any airborne infectious disease.
