On “The Impact” – March 7th, 2018
This week we start the show with the clash between publishers and policy makers over legislative public records.
Later we cap things off with a debate about disclosure guidelines past and present. That segment stars David Ammons and Allen Hayward. Ammons is a member of the Public Disclosure Commission who formerly served as communications director for a state agency and before that was the longest serving member of the Olympia Press Corps in state history. Hayward is an attorney who spent years working with the state legislature, mainly in the House of Representatives and on behalf of a former Speaker of the House.
Sandwiched in the middle of the two segments are news briefs about the net neutrality bill signing and the tongue in cheek legislation which takes aim at the “Dingy Dome” on the State Capitol Building and raises wild questions about the impact of mold, fungus, and lichen on the mental state of people who work in the building.
