This week on “The Impact”:

   With the balance of power at stake in the Washington State Senate, members of the Olympia press corps react to the early returns from election night and weigh in on the potential implications for high profile bills.

“I think there’s going to be a big push to get the capital budget off and rolling,” said Jim Camden, The Spokesman-Review.

“It’ll be made pretty clear I think early on, on whose kind of holding the cards on some of these bills,” said Rachel La Corte, Associated Press.

The Commissioner of Public Lands announces a 20 year plan to restore forest health and reduce fire risk in eastern Washington.

“If we take these steps we’ll be able to can improve the long term health and doing it first by those that are in the worst condition and the most threat to public life and safety,” said Hilary Franz, Commissioner of Public Lands, Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources.
