In 2016 Ralph Munro had the opportunity to chat with his friend and well-known artist Fred Oldfield about the Toppenish Murals. Mr. Oldfield was vital in the creation of the Toppenish Murals, even painting several himself! Although he is no longer with us, Fred Oldfield’s memory and legacy remain strong, thanks in part to the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center, located at the Washington State Fair.
