State of Washington v. Brandon Deutsch
- In 2018, the Department of Licensing (DOL) revoked Brandon Deutsch’s license. In 2019, an officer pulled Deutsch over, and Deutsch failed to provide his license. The State charged Deutsch in District Court with driving while license suspended in the second degree, and a jury convicted him. The Superior Court reversed Deutsch’s conviction, concluding the State failed to present evidence the DOL complied with its mailing custom when it sent Deutsch’s revocation letter.
