State of Washington v. CLA Estate Services, Inc
- Judge Scott presided over a trial in which CLA Estate Services (CLA) was a party and the opposing part was the State of Washington, represented by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). After his order was affirmed on appeal, CLA sought relief from judgment under CR 60 on the basis that Judge Scott violated the appearance of fairness doctrine given his “close relationship” with the AGO and failure to disclose the same or self-recuse. CLA appeals the trial court’s denial of the motion. COA# 889133. King County Superior Court# 18-2-06309-4.
