This week on “The Impact”:
Move over Vegas. For decades Nevada’s been the only state to offer large scale legal sports betting, but a new U.S. Supreme Court decision means any state can follow suit. In this episode the head of the state gambling commission weighs in on the odds of seeing state legal sports betting in Washington.
“The murmurings I hear are that some folks are in favor of it, some folks would prefer status quo, things to stay the way that they are,” said David Trujillo, Director of the Washington State Gambling Commission. “There is no doubt that any future sports betting in Washington State the tribes will be big players. They will be at the table.”
“Americans they’re rooting for their sports teams and Americans love their sports betting. They love their teams and they like to gamble too,” said Trujillo.
Later you’ll hear from some the state’s most talented high school artists and see the event that puts them in the spotlight.
