Legislative Review — January 20

Legislative Review features highlights from Friday’s legislative activity (1/20/23).

Late Thursday, the Senate Ways and Means Committee considered a bill that would expand Washington’s Working Families Tax Credit to anyone 18 years of age or older.

Friday the Senate Housing Committee heard testimony pro and con on a bill addressing landlord-tenant rules. Among other things, the bill gives tenants more time to obtain emergency rental assistance, and prohibits default judgments against tenants before a court date.
