Field Report: Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine

In 2015, the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine officially became the second public medical school in Washington State. A reality made possible by the state legislature when it allowed WSU to operate its own accredited medical school in the state. The college ushered in its inaugural class in 2017 and presented its first successful batch of graduates in the summer of 2021, with the hope of providing more physicians in underserved areas of the state.

In this episode of Field Report, we travel east to Spokane to see how the school is inching closer to its goal of narrowing the health care gap in rural Washington, years after its inception.
